Lesson Plan Reflection
My objectives were as
following:
- Students
will be able to read about “Spanish Cuisine” and use KWLH chart.
- Students
will be able to order food in Spanish.
- Students
will be able to choose their desired food from the menu.
- Students
will be able to ask and respond to questions about their order with the
waitress.
The assessment
measures of my lesson were formative and summative. The formative assessment
was done by walking around the room and making sure that every student was
working on the assignment. The summative assessment was done by having students
role play ordering food in a restaurant. My lesson was executed as I wrote. I
used index cards to help me not to forget anything. The most important thing
that I tried to teach to my students was the cultural part of the lesson, which
was about courtesy manners in a Spanish restaurant. I think it went well
because I had a student read an article out loud and then each student complete
a KLWH chart. I learned from my students that a teacher needs to be well
prepared to be able to answer any question that the students might have. From
my lesson I would have done different the “do know” I would have a question
relate to the lesson to catch the students attention as soon as they walk into
the classroom. To do my lesson more effective I would hand out a restaurant
menu to the students, so they get more familiar with the menu before role-playing
ordering food. I think I need to improve my power point presentation, since it
felt short.

Digital Story Reflection
Making a digital story
is a very time consuming project. The first step is to choose a story. The chosen story needs to have a main idea
and a question that will be answered at the end of the story. After that, is
time to collect pictures and videos that will reflect the story. Then, the narrative of the story needs to be
recorded, the tone of voice must change depending on the sequence of the story
and must show emotions that reflect the progression of the story. In addition,
music could be added to the story. After all that is done, it would be time to
go to the computer and put a beautiful digital story together. The biggest
struggle that I had was to put my voice and music together. I couldn’t do it in
my computer, so I decided to have my CD playing going while I recorded my
voice. That solved my problem. As I said before, making a digital story takes a
lot of time. It is not a project that can be done in one hour, a project like
this need least ten hours to be done.

End of day 2
My partner was out today. I was able to go over photostory 3. I think is an easier program than movie maker. For the next few days I am to share my experiences with photo story 3 with my partner and maybe we can agree to use to program for our digital story, which is due next Friday.
What I like to learn is how to put a background music while talking and how to add subtiltles to the digital story.

Digital story day 2
Today I would like to learn about photo story 3. I want to find out if I can work better with that program than movie maker.
